The Geography department recently visited Kew Gardens with a large group of Year 8 students. Whilst we were there, students carried out a number of experiments to support their learning on their current topics of Biomes and Ecosystems. Students were able to experience the tropical rainforest conditions inside the fantastic Palm House and also enjoyed magnificent views of London from the Treetop Walkway experience.
Mr Toomer, Head of Humanities, notes,
"The students were superbly behaved and a credit to the Academy throughout. A fellow visitor complimented a small group of our girls for their well-mannered behaviour after they had given up their space at a lunch table for an elderly visitor."
A big thank you must also go to Miss Clynes for organising the trip, and Mr Wiggett and Miss Lanns for their support.
