Girls' Cricket Thrives at Stockwood

Girls' Cricket Thrives at Stockwood

Our girls' Under 15 cricketers have had a busy couple of weeks competing in various events around the county. They won the County competition, showing off their amazing tenacity and team spirit! Though they trailed behind in the final, they came steaming back in front at the end of the game when Shabanham scored an amazing 41 Not Out, clinching victory and going through the tournament
undefeated.
The Stockwood Park girls team then went on to represent Bedfordshire in Regionals at Northampton Cricket Ground in late April. Despite suffering an eventual loss, the girls fought hard, and Narla and Ellie took some stunning wickets.

IMG_3657Cricket coach Mr Baker says, "I was so proud of the girls for their togetherness and 'never give up' attitude. They have come so far in training, and show what strong characters they are."

Following their impressive performances, three of our students - Ellie, Kerry and Shabanham - have been selected to attend Bedfordshire County Training Programme. A fantastic congratulations to our girls for finding success as individuals and as a strong team.
