The Stockwood Park Academy is pleased to announce we have been awarded Stage 2 of the Investors in Careers (IiC) Award (March 2017). We see the Award as recognition of the excellent CEIAG delivered and embedded in school.
Investor in Careers is a quality standard for the management of careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) and is now the most widely used quality award of its kind, nationally recognised and highly regarded.
The academy decided to embark on this process as it will help to enhance and develop this important aspect of our students’ education. The education, training and employment opportunities that students need to navigate is more complex and challenging than that faced by previous generations. There has never been a time when careers guidance has been so important to young people and a great deal of evidence to suggest that effective careers advice raises ambitions and inspires career development and progression. Good careers education will also assist in creating realism and relevance in the curriculum to life beyond school and into the world of work and further study or training.
Stage 2 involved a complete audit and review of the CEIAG programme on offer at The Stockwood Park Academy. The Assessor was exceptionally complimentary of the bespoke CEIAG programme on offer citing “Great to see input from Year 7 upward. A clear written overview of the programme with good entitlement statements. A range of external and impartial IAG sources from employers, providers and other institutions. All students in Year 11 have a 1:1 interview is excellent practice.”
