The young people from Stockwood Park Academy have once again demonstrated their enthusiasm and passion to create their medieval dragons and knights and parade it through the streets of Luton as part of the Luton Carnival 2017. In an elaborate and decorative display of community pride, our students strolled, ambled and careened down the streets of Luton
The large dragon caused quite a stir as it travelled down the parade route, assisted by TSPA students from Years 7 to 10. The atmosphere was energetic and electrifying, with floats and groups from all aspects of Luton culture and life participating in the parade and celebrating our diverse and harmonious community.
Students said, “This is an experience that has opened my eyes to all different types of culture within Luton and surrounding places. I am proud to be a Lutonian.”
The students were accompanied by Mr Rather, Business Teacher, and Mr Khan, Head of Business.
Mr Rathor complimented the students for participating in “an amazing event for the community. It was great to see unity, diversity and mix of cultures all in one event. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day”.
Mr Khan said that the dragon was“a highly impressive display by our students, which showed their creative side. The beautiful dragon clearly caught the judges' attention too! The students conducted themselves professionally and were great ambassadors for the academy”.
