“Let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.” —Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
And that’s exactly what 30 staff and students from the Media Department got early March when they boarded a coach bound for the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Leavesden. Adventure surrounded everyone throughout the whole day as sights and sounds from the famous Books & Films came alive.
From the magical flying car to Harry’s own wand everyone was treated to an absolute spectacle, and along the way learnt a whole host of new and valuable Media skills.
Lucy Dingle, an avid Potter fan, was very lucky to hold an actual newspaper from the show, not out on public display and was even
given a memento of her special day.
Mrs Pearson said that “It is wonderful to see how these much loved films are brought to life, and to see the students excitement as they recognise different elements of each film. The Media is an increasingly growing industry in the UK, and this trip has really provided our students with a valuable insight into what can be achieved if they work hard now”.
