The Stockwood Park Academy is very excited at the change in our Student Voice this year. We have appointed two year 11 students, Gabe Lewis and Bushra Amir, as Head Student Voice and Deputy Head Student Voice, who are going to be working with a team of students.
The aim of student voice, is to involve the students within the academy in all year groups, servicing the student body, and our immediate, national and international communities. We have appointed KS3 and 4 deputies for each of our 5 houses, and we have a number of prefects from years 8-11. The team in total is currently in excess of 25 students.
The students have a lot of fantastic ideas to ensure that children right across the academy have their opinions listened to, and ideas implemented. They will be responsible for taking on some duties, leading literacy, raising charity funds, and much more throughout the year. Top of their priority list this term was the Macmillan Worlds’ Largest Coffee Morning which took place on Friday 30th September 2016. All of the students put in a huge effort and raised over £330 for Macmillan!
The whole team are working really hard to make the most of the opportunity they have been given to shape something totally new for the academy, and will be launching the Student Voice to the student body in a series of assemblies immediately after half term.
