Anti-Bullying

“Change Starts With Us''

Learning to understand and manage conflict is an important part of growing up. However, under no circumstances will bullying will be tolerated at The Stockwood Park Academy.

Research shows that experiencing bullying can have a significant impact on a child's life well into adulthood. To ensure that we are able to prevent bullying, act quickly when it takes place and avoid misidentifying it, we have chosen to adopt a shared definition of bullying. This should be understood by the whole school - including students, parents/carers and all members of staff.

“Bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. It can happen face to face or online.”

As the school’s Anti-Bullying Coordinator, I work alongside the Pastoral Team to ensure that the social, emotional and academic outcomes of our students are protected. This will involve:

  • Raising awareness of our anti-bullying agenda.
  • Strengthening our anti-bullying policy.
  • Recruiting and overseeing the work of our student anti-bullying ambassadors.
  • Providing support and advice to affected students, parents and carers.

For regular updates regarding our progress and upcoming events, please read my weekly instalment in the school’s newsletter. Should you have any questions regarding anti-bullying, please feel free to contact me directly at: a.kelly2@thesharedlearningtrust.org.uk
